  1. Make your goal specific:
    Saying, "I want to lose weight" or "be thinner" won't energize you. Choose something specific that you would like to have, or be, or do when you have “enlightened up!” Example: putting in a full day’s work, but still feeling ready to go out and dance at night.
  2. Believe it's possible:
    Do you honestly believe you can be 50 pounds lighter by the end of the week? Choose a state of being that does not create doubt or fear within you, one that is simply better than what you're experiencing right now, and that makes you feel good about yourself and your life.
  3. Make it measurable:
    “I want to be happier,” is too vague and fuzzy. Better: finding a reason to smile 15 times a day, or learning and telling one new joke each week.
  4. Make this something you and NOT someone else wants:
    Take a Load Off!™ is all about gaining awareness of yourself and living your own truth, and will not work for you if you are doing this for other people.
  5. Create your own life, not someone else's:
    This program is entirely about YOU: your perceptions, your energy, your gifts and your desires. Following the exercises will put you firmly in the driver’s seat of your own power, but it will not give you power or influence over anyone else.
  6. Stick to it:
